Block of tufo with cut edges. This tufo block has not been separated from the natural tufo on the bottom surface. The shape of the internal rock is a cube - indicating that this was a rock that was being quarried, but was never fully removed. This block of tufo was probably in the process of being quarried, as the base of the cube is still attached to the geologic stratum of tufo. The N, S, and W edges were created by cut SU100, which defined the cube SU110. The cube was never undercut in the removal process. The cube is still attached to original geological stratum. The E and N edges have been heavily eroded.
