Excavation in this sector was resumed with SU 2908. While initially it was thought that 2908 and 2871 would be equal deposits, in the end it appears that 2871 was a smaller burnt deposit sitting on top of other post-abandonment material (2908). This corner appears to be either outside of the main complex (hence all the dumping) or related to earlier hut depressions (probably post abandonment layers). Without an expansion to the S. the exact nature of these deposits will be hard to determine.

Much burning and charcoal plus frequent wattle and daub indicate that it may be a dump or pit of some sort. Excavation was halted because stratigraphy was unclear
