Large rectangular upper fill for T.57 and T.56, that fills a cut into natural soil. The relationships at the upper level here may have been over-simplified during excavation as the fill was uniform and clayish soil made differences difficult to see. Was also not recognised as a tomb fill initially. When excavation was halted after uncovering of vessels, it became clear that 2905 covered two sub-cuts (2917, 2922) and from this point the fills were excavated separately.
Loose fill of large cut, possibly a tomb. Part of the fill could be natural vertisoil, cut from the bedrock and used to backfill.
