Upon the excavation of the feature, it has become clear that this is not actually a fill of a cut but, instead, is a layer of accumulation sitting within a depression in the natural soil (likely for a hut feature of some king and also likely anthropically created). This was excavated out of sequence but provides a window into earlier stratigraphy.
Accumulation within a linear cut (2900) that 12, in turn, but by a posthole (or the post hole is constructed in the cut). Fill appears to run underneath feature 2851 but has not been fully excavated as we try to ascertain the exact nature of this feature.
Friable gray deposit at E limit of 2851, fills 2900.
