Large rectangular cut into natural soil which was later truncated by 2917 and 2922 to form two separate chambers for T.56 and 57 respectively. Appears to align with the edge of feature 2851 although stratigraphical relationship is still unclear and awaits excavation of the feature. Two sub-cuts (2917, 2922) for the tombs identified within although exact relationship is still unclear as they do not appear to directly cut each other - pending ceramic analysis of the tomb contents and fills for relative chronology. The relationships at the upper level here may have been over-simplified during excavation as the fill was uniform and clayish soil made differences difficult to see. The uppermost level of fill (2905) was also not recognised as a tomb fill initially.
