Fill of posthole.

2018-07-16 Kelly Miklas

Fill for a posthole, likely for a low-level structure given its size. The animal burrow cutting through the southern half of the fill likely affected the contents of the fill. Since the northern and southern halves are so different in elevation the northern, shallower bottom of the fill might be due to packing. The large basalt stones were also likely used to pack the fill. Pottery was only found in the southern, deeper part of the fill, which might be a result of the dirt originally used to pack the fill, or could result from the animal burrow depositing ceramic from other contexts.
