Layer of accumulation containing fairly consistent examples of early pottery (no later than c. 700 BCE). The portion of the SU in the SW corner, cut by the drainage canal at the S. limit and abutting wall 3237 at W. limit and cut by micromorphology sampling at S., has some possibility of contamination when the bulldozer constructed the southern ramp. This was removed as part of the same SU, but designated as SU 3259 (SW corner). A concentration of spools and spindle whorls was found at south-central limit. We found earliest material at S. limit.
