This feature is unusual. It may have been a structural feature in association with the construction of the seventh-century hut and/or sixth-century stone building. Many of the stones in this feature were covered by a yellow substance, as yet unidentified, but it may have been decayed wattle and daub. I have not yet ruled out that this agglomeration of stones may cover a burial as there seems to be a stony deposit further below this one. This SU may also be related to other stones visible throughout the center of room 2, including 3547 and 3534.
