These four basalt stones are arranged according to a north-south alignment, parallel with the wall of the archaic building and late 5th/early 4th c. BCE road. Their purpose is unclear: the three northernmost stones appear to sink into the road layer (SU 3043); in this way they may have created a cut. It is possible, however, that they continue into the layer beneath the road, possibly in an earlier phase of road construction. These stones were not documented in 2010 when they were discovered since the bottom had not been reached, but they were documented in 2015, since the excavation area had to be extended to uncover the circular hut feature at the SE limit of the area.
