Fill of a rougly circular cut (4030) in the glariate road surface. Soft, silty, dark brown soil with sparse inclusions. Cluster of concrete tufo chunks from cobble to boulder size on north west side at the bottom of the cut. Layer abuts wall 2292 on west side. Natural accumulation. Arrangement of concrete and tufo at bottom of fill resembles similar basalt arrangements in the tree-planting pits in Area A excavated in 2009 and 2010. layer partially excavated by Area C (2281) in order to expose retaining wall 2292.
