SU 5532 is the basalt paving of perhaps the most important road in Gabii, the equivalent of the via Praenestina within the city, near its intersection with the road leading through the remainder of the city and on to Tivoli. Little data can currently be gleaned from it, as it was not able to be fully investigated. Two basalt paving stones were shot in and recorded to preserve the relationship between this road and SU 5497, the rectangular tufo pavement covered by this basalt road. The basalt pavement thus relates to a relatively late phase of activity in the area.
