This foundation appears, upon the excavation of the basalt foundation 5539 to the west, to have been the eastern continuation of the same structure.

unworked blocks of basalt seem to be filling a foundation trench either for wall 5158 or for another unknown later wall. This foundation abuts the bedrock at the east end of the SU but on the west end the blocks bow out as the bedrock disappears under 5158. The cut of the foundation trench was not identified it may have been compromised by the backhoe used to open the area or the cut line maybe obscured by the edges of the basalt blocks themselves.
