After study, this cut (SU 619) is interpreted as relating to the construction of a hut. It is cut inside SU 615 and this set of features can be interpreted as the foundation trench and settings for upright posts that would form a hut or another small structure.
Cut for a posthole, which was wider and roundish on its top part and square at the bottom, as if the wide part held a packing around the post. When it was formed it was just filled with silty clay. There was no difference in the fill from top to bottom. This was one of two contexts excavated in the last 15 minutes of the workday - Friday, 06-17-2011 - the final day of working in Area A.
