This layer of brown silt was most likely just an accumulation over time, since much of the layer had few inclusions and these inclusions were a smattering of different materials. During excavation, linear features which run north-south were discovered, which could be walls. These linear features have no binding agent and sit directly on the road, which suggests that the road was out of use when this layer was formed. This layer also covered the road and a curb, which provides further evidence that the road was out of use before the layer formed. Between the curb and the southern limit there was no road, but instead came down onto more soil layers and more north-south linear features, so the purpose and use of this area is still unclear.
