Excavations in 2017 revealed that this wall also represents the western limit of Room 4, the occupation level of which sits at a significantly higher level than Room 1, based in part on the height at which the plaster on the eastern face within Room 4 stops. The foundations within Room 4 were not exposed in 2017, and a full understanding of the construction of this wall awaits further exploration during the 2018 season.
This wall represents the eastern limit of Room 1 in its latest phase, after the ashlar building was reorganized. The wall appears to be founded on a single course of ashlar blocks, which may belong to the original phase; thus this wall may recreate a preexisting limit. It is bound to the ashlar walls to the north and south.
