This wall seems to belong to the original phase of ashlar construction in this corner of the 'piazza'; that it was worked - like block 7146 - to serve in part as the foundation for an adjacent tufo pillar base (7147; cf. 7145) suggests again that these bases and the ashlar walls are in phase with one another. Like walls 7143 and 7146 that continue the lines of walls 7097 and 7098 to the east, this wall too seems to have a counterpart on the eastern side of later concrete wall 7080 (visible on the surface, but not yet documented in 2017; to be explored in 2018).
