Further study indicated that this was a large layer of colluvium, due to the wide chronological range of the ceramics and their poor condition, covering the area following the final abandonment of the structure.
Layer of mixed, sandy soil with a large amount of small tufo fragments. Beneath this layer the cappuccina tomb (T.31, SU 1331-1336) was discovered. The layer seemed to have covered the grave cut. But due to the difficult visibility we might just not have seen the cut
