During post-excavation study, this feature was reinterpreted as a linear stone feature in Space 1A-1. SU 2393/2513 runs parallel to 2394/2514, west to east, and appear to be a continuation of 2497's southern extension. It is one of the earliest built features post-dating Gabii's urban grid.

I believe that it is likely that this drainage feature belongs to an earlier phase of the Area C house in associated with the central drainage feature 2493 and was reused in the floor leveling for SU 2253.

2016-07-04 Sheira Cohen

The SU is a drainage channel. It is associated with the construction of floor 2253, probable a continuation to the east of drainage feature 2493 and 2494 that was excavated in 2015. It potentially also connects with the large central drainage feature in the courtyard.
