Further study of the road sequence indicates that this is related to later use of the road, probably for quarrying activity.

Perhaps a layer of collapse, because dirt between and underneath similar to dirt in covering (SU170); possibly a poorly constructed or maintained road surface of relatively late date due to compactness of deposit
