Soil foundation layer for feature 2851
This compact deposit was likely meant to fill the space between the two deposits surrounding it to the north and south, which might also explain why we found so few ceramic and bone inclusions. We expected to find more of the super compact grey floor surface (SU 2944) coming under our deposit coming from the West, but instead found what appears to be a different brownish compact surface underneath that contains many burning and charcoal inclusions.
