This layer is largely a deposit of colluvium that has gathered since excavation in 2010. In the N half, it sits directly atop bedrock, until it meets the apsidal wall 2219. The S half was partially cleared by a bulldozer, revealing the charcoal/ashy layer beneath and a series of walls and other surfaces suggestive of occupation. Entire layer defined by limits of excavation on all sides. On the morning of June 22, a square patch contained medium sized stones was visible just SW of wall 2219 and E of the tufo tomb (documented in photos 3, 4, 5)
