This is a naturally occurring cut, created by erosion that seems to separate Room 2 of the archaic house into 2 halves both N and S. The cut is most visible at the juncture of walls 3096 and 3031. The stones between these walls (which represent different phases) are no longer extant. The erosion may have bisected Room 2, or been in alignment with something that actually did, since throughout the excavation, the N. and S. halves of the room have been distinct and excavated separately.
