Section of the basalt paving stones making up the north-south running road between Areas C and E. Covered by a small patch of environmental remains (SU 4012) such as charcoal, along with western side next to retaining wall 4011, otherwise covered by SU 0. Probably retaining wall on eastern side (SU 4037, 4013) with possible sidewalk between road and wall (not yet excavated). Cut 4043 in middle of section on east edge with fill 4042 indicated robbing trench for basalt slabs. The northern edge of the paving is also clearly truncated, though by an unknown cause, possibly another robbing action.
