Based on its construction technique, position, and alignment, this wall seems to belong to the original ashlar phase of the monumental complex. Frustratingly few traces of this phase remain in this part of the lower terrace, however, and reconstructing the appearance of the southern limit of the complex is problematic. This wall may represent part of the original southern boundary of the complex; certainly this is a preferable hypothesis to the line of ashlar blocks just to the north, which is demonstrably later and related to the early imperial phases.

Foundation for a structure set into foundation Cut 5711. Two tiers of the eastern portion of the wall remain preserved, only one tier in the western portion remains preserved. wall was most likely built at the same time as the basalt stone construction 5731 Since both lie in cut 5711
