Cut in the bedrock to facilitate the construction on a drainage feature. there are steps carved in eastern limit to provide access, which could have been built with the original cut or have been created 20 years ago during previous excavation. Additionally, grooves carved in northern end of cut suggest there was some form of support beam for a covering over the channel.
