The petit appareil wall appears to have been constructed with the middle portion of the wall at a lower height. It is possible that the middle part of the wall created an entryway into room 19 to the north. The wall rests on ashlar blocks (6242) that may be in their original location because there is no mortar or other binding agent between each block. In terms of phasing, the wall most likely was built before 5866 to its west. It is unlikely that 6243 and 5866 are in phase because the mortar in 5866 appears to be much lighter in color than the mortar in 6243. This wall could have been used in the imperial period as an entryway, because the surface level in room 20 seems to have been high enough for the lowered part of the wall to act as a step or entrance. The level of 6095 (the floor) can be traced along the ashlar blocks (6242) in the north of room 20, giving us an idea of where the surface likely was.
