This SU, which was uncovered in the 2018 season, was determined to be a sterile, non-anthropic layer that obfuscated the cut of the foundation trench of the southern wall (SUs 7036, 7074, 7071, 7057) of Room 1. Excavation discontinued when the final traces of the cut were uncovered at the base of the southern wall. It appears that this sterile layer continues on the northern side of the drain (SU 7174), including under the slab floor (7067), but excavation in this room was halted in 2019.
