The building technique and the fact that the opus reticulatum wall abuts the ashlar wall indicate that the opus reticulatum wall is later than the monumental ashlar wall, and earlier than the irregular wall SU 7284 to the west. The north-south wall SU 7080 to the north aligns with the western end of this opus reticulatum wall, likely indicating that when the opus reticulatum wall was built, the enclosed area of the room might only extend from the ashlar wall to the western limit of the opus reticulatum. Later when the irregular wall SU 7284 was built, the western limit of the room extended to where the tufo pillar SU 7283 is, enclosing Room 14.
