Although built in ashlar blocks without the use of mortar, this wall does not seem to belong to the original mid-Republican phase; rather, based in part on their size and state of wear, these blocks appear to be reused in a later phase to create a wall where perhaps none had previously existed (to divide Room H14 from Room H15 to the south). Their relative lateness is also demonstrated by the fact that they seem to cover the tufo slab floor 7321 in Room H15. This wall was later plugged or patched by a feature in concrete (7289), perhaps filling an earlier threshold.
