This wall also served as the western limit of Room I16 at a later phase. This later room was built up against the existing structure, which may have been largely abandoned at the time.
SU 8038 served as the eastern wall of the structure in Area I, specifically for rooms I-7 and I-8. No true limits can be found between it and both 8012 to the north and 8039 to the south, suggesting that all were constructed simultaneously in the first major construction phase of this building. However it should also be noted that the intersection with 8012 creates an odd, acute angle, and it is unclear what the reasons for this might be. SU 8012 and related walls are clearly later than this and the other reticulate walls.
