The rectangular/circular shape of the cut could be explained by robbing activity. The 4 tufo blocks may be all that remains of a north-south wall that was robbed out (leaving a rectangular cut) in order to make space for a circular cut. The circular cut is likely in phase with cut 8057, and was probably used for the same purpose, possibly containing a vessel associated with storage of wine/olive oil production.
Cut east of 8057.
