SU 8277 represents the fill of a relatively late linear cut (SU 8278) which itself cuts through post-abandonment rubble collapse. It represents colluvial action during and perhaps after the agricultural activities which characterize the area from late antiquity to modern times.
The fill of a ditch feature, cut through an earlier uniform rubble layer. A commingle of rubble throughout fill possibly is from later agricultural disturbance. Preliminary interpretation: dug much later than rubble layer.
