The SU was originally identified as part of the N-S rubble wall (2250). During excavation of the east side of the rubble next to the cocciopesto ledge (2232), it appeared that the rubble collapsed into an earlier robbing cut. The old SU sheet was cancelled, and distinct numbers were given to the rubble fill (2223), rubble wall (2250), and robbing cut (2254). Although somewhat ambiguous, we conclude that the rubble wall was partially destroyed by the robbing cut, which then contributed to the rubble collapse/backfill identified in this fill. During post-excavation study, this feature was reinterpreted as evidence that the walls in Space 5 were spoliated entirely during Phase 3.
