We began excavation in order to determine if either walls SU 2278 or SU 2256 continued or connected. We found no further evidence of the wall. Furthermore, there was no clear indication of a robbing cut. Due to the different construction styles of wall SU 2256 (worked orange tufo blocks) and wall SU 2278 (irregular grey tufo stones), we conclude that robbing activity is unlikely. The two walls remain discrete units and did not appear to originally connect.
