Interpretations

Interpretations
2020-06-16 BrittanyProffitt

During post-excavation study, this feature was reinterpreted as either an abandonment deposit or leveling deposit sitting between the Phase 1B and 2 buildings. Because of the compressed stratigraphy between the two phases, it is not possible to isolate a single function for this deposit.

2015-07-26 J Troy Samuels

The travertine slab may have acted as packing, holding some kind of post. However, until more similar cuts are excavated, the function is unclear.

2015-07-24 Constantinos Demetral

The SU is a circular cut with an unknown purpose, on the western side of the 2015 Area C excavation.
