This section of basalt paving stones appears to be a floor. The lower/southern portion of paving stones all angle towards center which perhaps indicates a type of drainage feature. There is a notch/cut in wall 4025 aligning with this slope that may be a drain. The paving may be part of an industrial complex involving water; compare with a similar stretch of paving in the fullonica in Area C. Paving 4048 abuts wall 4045 on N and two unnumbered walls on W. Cut on E and S by unknown action. There may be a doorway in the W wall between stretches of paving 4048 and 4041.
