Roughly square cut into earth (layer SU414) and the bedrock below (on N and W). The S and E edges may have been eroded and the fill (SU415) extnded under the layers above on the S side. The cut was filled by a layer of soil and tufo (SU425), then a circular pile of tufo stones (SU424) and a reddish-orange fill on top (SU415), all of which may be a tree planting. The cut in the bedrock extends further into the layers beneath SU414 to the S and E, suggesting that it was a pre-existing cut reused for the possible tree planting.
