This was a series of seven ashlar blocks aligned N-S perpendicular to and partly under 5550 (tufo slab floor surface), which probably served as a drainage feature cover. Robbery cut 5640 was over these blocks, from which a previously existing wall was probably robbed out. This wall would have rested on these blocks, which served as a stable foundation, running perpendicular to the course of the wall. A similar feature was found in the eastern section of area F in 2013 (5397) with three blocks of a similar nature.
