SU 8030 served as the wall separating Room I-4 from Room I-2, west of the threshold (8019) between the two. On its southern side it extends beyond the edge of the threshold, and the regularization of the facing here - squared rectangular blocks rather than opus reticulatum - may have served to reinforce the exposed corner thus created. SU 8030 abuts, and is not perpendicular to, the red tufo block 8077 (and thus on a different alignment from the rest of the associated walls to the south), suggesting that it belongs to a later phase of the structure.
