This tank was clearly intended to hold liquid, and is obviously connected to the features of Room I-1 to the north, which we believe to be related to wine or olive oil production. This tank would thus have served to collect the must for distribution to fermentation containers, or to collect the oil for settling/sedimentation - these processes might help to explain the nature of SU 8059 at the bottom of the tank.
