This is a layer of post-abandonment accumulation, which is equivalent to SU 2243 to the east (the layer within the vestibulum of the house). An arbitrary limit was drawn along the line of wall SU 2245. Floor SU 2253, which was covered by this layer, was already partly visible thanks to the excavation performed by the machine during the pre-season. This floor is poorly preserved in the center of the atrium of the house, and a decision was made to cease excavation of this layer at a depth 1-2 cm below the surface of the extant floor preparation. Therefore, the layer of soil below (SU 2246) is somewhat arbitrarily differentiated. During post-excavation study, this feature was reinterpreted as an accumulation layer marking the abandonment of the area.
