This is a layer of post-abandonment accumulation, which is equivalent to SU 2228 to the west (the layer within the atrium of the house). The western limit was defined by the north-south axis of wall SU 2245, an arbitrary limit between the central courtyard and of the house, and a vestibulum bordered by walls SU 2240 and SU 2239 respectively to south and north, and the road to the east. SU 2243 was thus separated from SU 2228, so that finds from the atrium and the vestibulum could be separated.
