The bottom of the cut was not exposed in 2012 season due to safety concerns regarding the stability of wall 5006, while the full length of the cut could not be exposed due to excavation limits (eastern and western). SU 5117 appears to be the construction cut into the bedrock of a terracing wall, as the wall sits inside the cut. The material from fill 5118 is thought to be the original fill as the composition differs from the fill above (5025). In addition, the white chalk material found in 5109 (wall 5006) does not appear in the area with the exception of wall 5007, which may suggest that A) the fills were undisturbed and B) walls 5007 and 5006, and by extension cuts 5051 and 5117 may possible have part of the same construction event.
