SU 8222 is a large cut extending along the southern wall of the Area I structure. The only possible interpretation is that it was cut in order to spoliate material from the building post-abandonment; in fact it may represent multiple cuts made for this purpose, perhaps in association with the evidence for later lime burning and/or mortar mixing in eastern Area I.
