During post-excavation study, this feature was reinterpreted as either an abandonment deposit or leveling deposit sitting between the Phase 1B and 2 buildings. Because of the compressed stratigraphy between the two phases, it is not possible to isolate a single function for this deposit.

2015-07-26 J Troy Samuels

The deposit is related to either a destruction phase of an earlier structure or an early level of floor preparation for the later floors of the Area C structure.
