Interpretations

Interpretations
Unknown Date Unknown Author

After further study, it is apparent that this is one of a series of preparation levels which had the function of leveling the ground to make it suitable for the new building

Unknown Date Unknown Author

Layer along the west side of the house, covering a layer with frequent inclusions of crumbly orange tufo with white specks that extends towards the west (under SU414). Pre-excavation, it appeared to extend east under the house, but this seems less secure following excavation. No further excavation in this part of Area A in 2010 campaign.
