During the 2018 season, the wall was exposed down to floor level. In room I-10, the bottom of 8012 was covered by opus signinum (SU 8378), making all four walls of room I-10 covered at one point in opus signinum. This suggests this room was used for some activity that required water-proofing of the walls. In room I-18, the bottom of 8012 was covered by a decorative mortar socle with inlaid marble (SU 8389). Again, this socle was found running almost around the entire room on other walls (SU 8199, 8133, and 8119). This suggests room I-18 had a different decorative style than room I-10.
This is a long east-west running wall that continues through Area I. In the western sector of the area (as of 2017). In the western sector, it forms the southern boundary of rooms I-10 and I-18 and the northern boundary of room I-11. In the eastern sector, it forms the northern boundary of rooms I-1 and I-2.
