SU 8341 is a concrete wall separating Room I-22 from Room I-21 to the north. At its eastern end, its relationship to both wall 8340 and wall 8203 remains somewhat unclear; all may have been bound together in one single construction. Indeed, the situation appears similar to that on the opposite side of the apsidal wall, both in terms of stratigraphical relationship and in the overall symmetry of the building. However, the facing on the southern side of SU 8341 is far less regular then the uniform small tufo blocks of those (and most other) walls associated with the original phase of construction of this building; the possibility remains that it belongs to a later phase, or, perhaps more likely, was repaired or partially rebuilt in the later phase associated with the basin in Room I-22 (SUs 8393, 8394, 8395). Excavation next season on the north side of the wall may clarify this phasing.
