The wall was fully excavated down to floor level in 2018. In addition to the three marble notches mentioned in the 2017 interpretation along the top area of the wall, there were a series of eight holes revealed in a relative line also near the bottom of the wall on the eastern face in room I-18, just above a decorative socle with inlaid marble pieces (SU 8386). The presence of these holes directly above a decorative socle may further indicate that the wall once was covered with possible stone revetment that has since been robbed out.
A series of notches present at the same level along the upper course of this wall suggests that some structure or feature was once placed here. These notches are in alignment with the remains of the "stairs" (SU 8246) in the northeast corner of the room. The notches likely supported an object or objects made of wood, which has since decayed, or stone, which was robbed when the structure fell out of use. The notches may have held a course of revetments; alternately, some sort of platform that ran around the western, northern and eastern limits of this room. It is possible this formed a bench.
Concrete wall of petit appareil that runs N-S in the western portion of Room I-18. Wall has not yet been excavated to its full extent. Wall has suffered considerable cuts by the plough in its top face. Wall forms western limit of Room 18. Belongs to initial phase of the use of the building.
