SU 8369 is a concrete wall which formed the western limit of Room I-17, dating to the original phase of the building. While the areas to the west remain unexcavated, the presence of a doorway at the northern limit, surfaced with a continuation of mosaic 8409, tells us that the wall was an interior dividing wall. Indeed, the mosaic extending across the threshold might suggest that the adjacent room was more or less open to the atrium/courtyard Room I-17, perhaps with a semi-public function (such as a triclinium).
Western wall of room I-17; likely did not connect to wall 8368 as evidenced by the continuation of mosaic 8409 extending to the western limit of wall 8369 across a threshold near our excavation limit; Cut by 8278 which extends from wall 8119, across room I-17 and continues through wall 8369 into the excavation limit.
